About Flagnar

The idea for this website came to me while I was working as a Web Designer for Amazon.com. At a family dinner one evening, my sister said, “tell your bosses at Amazon that people want to know the country of origin of all the products they sell”. She was looking for a toy cash register for a baby shower, and was having difficulty finding one made in America.

Like most people, I never really stopped to consider where the products I purchased were made. If it was cool (and preferably cheap) I bought it, and that was that. But her comment got me thinking, and I suddenly started looking at labels. Once I did, I discovered just how rare the phrase “Made in the USA” has become. I also found out that those products which are made in America are often hard to find because the manufacturers don’t advertise the fact (at least not prominently anyway). So I decided to build this site as a resource for people like myself and my sister who have made a conscious choice to buy American Made products whenever possible.

The road to American economic recovery won’t be paved with government handouts or “stimulus” packages. It will be paved by Americans making and buying products made right here at home, rather than products made in China, India, Mexico, etc.

We hope that you find this resource valuable and use it before you make any purchase, no matter how small. And if you know of a great American company not listed here, please let us know by using our Suggest a Company page. Together, we can help create a brighter future for all Americans.
